OUR STORY

MVH Johannesburg is founded by two young men who share a deep passion for Africa’s local street fashion. Growing up in the heart of the townships, they are surrounded by the vibrant, bold, and creative fashion that flourishes in their communities. They see firsthand the immense talent and innovation that exists, yet they also witness the lack of recognition and opportunity for local designers to rise beyond the streets. Many of these creators face limited funding, scarce platforms, and little support, making the dream of reaching a wider audience seem almost impossible.

Determined to change this, they set out to create a store that will bridge the gap between the raw, unrecognized talent of Africa’s streets and the global stage. Despite the challenges of limited resources and a lack of formal opportunities, they are fueled by a shared vision: to elevate the designers of the townships and give them the exposure they deserve. Through MVH Johannesburg, they are building a platform to showcase authentic African street fashion and empower those who lack the funding and opportunities to take their work to the next level.

MVH is a brand born from the streets, rising from the lack of opportunity, and determined to give local designers the platform they need to shine.
